Smart film for windows, also called switchable window film, electric window film, smart glass window film or electric window tint, turns existing windows into smart windows. At the touch of a switch, clear glass becomes frosted for privacy, then clear again for light and views.
The film is applied to the inside face of existing windows and glass doors, with no glass replacement. It suits villa windows facing neighbours or the street, ground-floor offices, glass doors and showrooms. Every installation uses Japanese film from Mitsubishi or Toray.

Colours
The frosted state comes in white, light grey, grey, charcoal and black. Darker shades give a tinted look similar to an electric window tint.
Control
Glass touch wall switch, RF remote, mobile app, Google Home or Alexa, or home automation. A dimmer option sets any level between clear and frosted.

Can smart film be applied to any window?
Smart film bonds to the inside face of any smooth, flat glass, including windows, glass doors and double-glazed units. The survey confirms each pane before manufacture.
Does smart window film work like a window tint?
In the frosted state smart film diffuses light for privacy rather than darkening it. For a darker, tint-like look, choose grey, charcoal or black film.
Is the film visible when the window is clear?
In the clear state the film transmits about 95% of visible light. Toray film has the lowest haze, so the window looks closest to ordinary glass.
Does electric window film block heat and UV?
Yes. It blocks up to 99% of UV and reduces solar heat gain, which helps protect furniture and lower cooling loads.
Can I control all my windows together?
Windows can be switched individually or as groups, by wall switch, remote, mobile app, Google Home or Alexa, or through KNX, Crestron, Lutron and Control4.
